14 Ways to Protect Your Kids Right Now!

The latest measles outbreak has everyone on edge and in a frenzy. It’s not just the U.S., either – we’re seeing outbreaks all over the world right now, with no end in sight. But there are some things you can do to protect your kids right now, even if they can’t get vaccinated yet! This blog post will cover 14 ways that may help keep your children safe from the measles virus for now

I [MAA] am not a doctor and cannot give medical advice! This blog post is designed to help you do your own research into ways that may help protect your kids from the measles virus. Please use this information wisely and at your own risk!

1. Breastfeed Your Baby

Exclusive breastfeeding, with no water, medication, or other supplements – not even vitamin D! – for six months has been shown to protect babies from measles infection.

2. Make Sure Your Baby Gets Vitamin A

Studies have indicated that supplementing your baby’s diet with high doses of vitamin A starting at 6 months of age reduces the risk of getting measles by 71%! Vitamin A is found in carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, butternut squash – the list goes on!

3. Don’t Give Your Baby Any Drugs or Medicine Other Than Vitamins

Most drugs are extremely damaging to the immune system. The less you can expose your baby to chemicals and medications, the better! So stay away from Tylenol, Advil, Benadryl, Sudafed – all of it! None of these drugs are safe to give kids under 12 years old. If your baby has a fever or is in pain, consider giving him organic maple syrup mixed with water (1 tablespoon per year of age) or some garlic rubbed on the bottoms of the feet.

4. Breastfeed Your Baby Organic Mother’s Milk Every Day!

Mother’s milk is God’s perfect food, and if your baby gets breast cancer, it will NOT show up in her mother’s milk (see item 13 below). It is never too late to start breastfeeding if you have already had children and stopped breastfeeding. Many women with premature menopause or early onset of menopause have successfully breastfed with the help of hormone replacement therapies such as creams, patches and pills.

5. Give Your Baby Organic Arrowroot Tablets Daily

Arrowroot is a white powder ground from the root of a tropical plant. It has long been used as a thickening agent in cooking. Many parents have found that giving their children one or two tablets of organic arrowroot daily helps to thicken the milk and reduce the symptoms of infant diarrhea.

6. Give Your Baby Extra Vitamin E Every Day

Studies being done right now are showing that vitamin E may protect kids from getting SSPE (subacute sclerosing panencephalitis), a rare brain infection that occurs 7 to 10 years after measles. Vitamin E is found in spinach, asparagus, lettuce and other leafy green vegetables, wheat germ oil, olive oil and many other foods!

7. Always Give Your Child Extra Zinc Every Day

Zinc is a trace mineral that plays a role in immune system function. It can reduce the severity of measles when taken at the onset of symptoms, and studies have shown it may also help prevent SSPE when given daily from infancy through 5 years old. Zinc is found in wheat germ oil, organic yogurt, green
