Despite strong warnings from Israel and the United States, Iran has announced that it is stockpiling uranium, a material used to make nuclear weapons.
A senior adviser to the country’s supreme religious leader,
Ayatollah Khamenei, confirmed this in an interview with the media. The news is from the Jerusalem Post.
At the same time, Tehran said that the country has the ability to make nuclear bombs at any time. Meanwhile,
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the United States is creating an unstable situation in the Middle East.
Joe Biden has completed his first trip to the Middle East since being elected as the President of the United States.
The issue of Iran’s nuclear program gained the most importance in Biden’s bilateral meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
At the end of the meeting, they also expressed their common position on Tehran’s nuclear project in a joint statement.
Biden warned that all kinds of force will be used to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. However,
despite the eyes of Israel and the United States, Iran is steadfast in its previous position regarding the development of nuclear weapons.
In an interview given to the media, Kamal Kharraji, a senior advisor to Iran’s supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei,
said that Tehran is collecting uranium, the material for making nuclear weapons. He also claimed that 60 percent of uranium enriched within a few days.
Kharraji also said that Iran has the strategic means of making nuclear weapons. However, he did not say anything confirming whether atomic bomb will be made.
Tehran did not take Joe Biden’s comments on Iran lightly during his Middle East tour. In a statement,
the spokesman of Iran’s foreign ministry said that the United States is creating an unstable situation in the Middle East. It is also commented that Biden is creating ‘Iranophobia’.
In 2015, former US President Barack Obama signed an agreement with the country to curb Iran’s nuclear program.
However, in 2018, the then US President Donald Trump came out of that agreement. After that, Iran strengthened its nuclear program again.
However, Biden commented in an Israeli television interview that Trump made a big mistake by withdrawing from the agreement.
He said that he is thinking of returning to the agreement to stop Iran from its nuclear program.🔱
