Facebook has changed the home feed. One of the world’s social networking sites has brought updated features to make homefeed easier for customers.
💨From Thursday (July 21), the platform has split its ‘Home’ section into two tabs. This move will suggest more entertaining and diverse content to users. Mark Zuckerberg calls it the ‘Discovery Engine’. It will work to increase users’ time and attention on Facebook.
According to the news of American media CNN, Facebook has taken this step to increase competition with rivals like TikTok.
Users will now open Facebook and see a home tab, designed with a variety of recommendations and recommended (recommended) content. The Home tab will also have Facebook Stories and Instagram Reels. The company is now encouraging users to post on both platforms.
There will be a new ‘Feeds’ tab next to the Home tab, with no recommended content. Instead, you will see recent posts of friends, posts of following groups and updates of pages. With the Feeds tab, users can create ‘favorites’ feeds to filter friends, groups and pages.
According to the company’s system, both tabs will include ads. Other tabs like Watch and Groups will remain the same.
- “We understand that you may be looking for options in selecting and viewing content,” the company said in a statement. For example, you may want to see recent posts in your group or new and entertaining content.
- Last week Facebook announced a change to the Feed tab. The new change has been rolled out for some users from Thursday (July 21). Hopefully, this change will be visible to all users within this week.
- Facebook is the third most popular in the world. Its position is after Google and YouTube. 38 percent of all Facebook accounts are from Asia. Facebook has done the most business in Indonesia, India and the Philippines.
According to Search Engine Journal, users spend an average of 58 minutes on Facebook every day. However, a user spends more time behind each content. Instead, a user spends only 1.7 seconds on each piece of content that comes into the feed.🔱
