The Official Photo of Chevy Corvette Z06

This is a blog post that talks about the first official photo of the Chevy Corvette Z06. The new model has been in development for years, and it looks like this will be one of the most impressive cars ever to come out of Detroit.

The 2015 Corvette Z06 is much more than a simple upgrade. It looks like the engineers had to push themselves very hard to come up with something this impressive. More on that later. One of the most important pieces of information came out during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Chevrolet officials have said that the C7 Corvette Z06 will be offered with a removable roof panel for the first time ever. The Corvette ZR1’s impressive high-speed capabilities are largely due to its removable panel, and it looks like this trend will continue with the C7 generation.

The 2015 Corvette Stingray showcased in Detroit was painted in what Chevrolet calls “Black eye” black. This dark shade is the only one available for the exterior, and it looks amazing. The Corvette Z06 will come with a new hood, front splitter and rear spoiler. The car’s aerodynamic computer-controlled active elements also change automatically depending on which driving mode has been selected by the driver .

The Corvette Stingray is powered by an all-new LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine that is expected to make around 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque . The unit has direct injection, variable valve timing, a cylinder cutoff system and other advanced technologies. This engine will be offered with a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox that was developed in a partnership with Ford Motor Company .

The 2015 Corvette Z06 will be offered with a choice between a seven-speed manual transmission and an all-new high performance eight-speed automatic. The Stingray’s Magnetic Ride Control active suspension system will be available on the new model as well. One of the main upgrades over the previous generation is that the Corvette Z06 will be offered with much larger tires than the Stingray. Chevrolet has not released any information about the sizes just yet, but there are rumors suggesting that the car could come with 20-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires measuring 295/25/20 at all four corners. The brakes seem to have been borrowed from the Stingray as well. The Corvette Z06 will also sport specific front and rear fascias with larger grille openings to provide the engine with a higher volume of air for cooling .

A new set of MagneRide dampers will be available for the C7 Corvette Z06 , and a full-length center tunnel on the car’s carbon fiber chassis provides the place for the new four-channel ABS system. The 2015 Corvette Z06 will weight less than its predecessor . Some sources are saying that the car could be around 220 pounds lighter, which would put it somewhere in the region of 3,300 pounds. Chevrolet has yet to announce anything official about the car, but if the rumors are true, it looks like this will be a very impressive piece of machinery.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is going to make its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show that will start on January 14th, and we can’t wait to find out what this new car is all about. Hopefully more information is going to be released before the event takes place.
